United are reportedly ready to make an improved £15 million offer for the defender after Barcelona opened talks with Arsenal over his sale. Meanwhile, Arsenal could face Spanish side Athletic Bilbao in Fridays draw for the play-off round to reach this seasons Champions League group stage.
