SQUATTING DOES NOT DESTROY YOUR KNEES In fact, it helps - TopicsExpress

SQUATTING DOES NOT DESTROY YOUR KNEES In fact, it helps strengthen the knees and prevents injury. Above is a video of me performing the Cossack Squat, an exercise which requires a large degree of lower body mobility, stability and strength. It is far more difficult than a regular squat and puts far more stress on the same tissues used in one, but guess what, I performed it with ZERO knee pain. I will tell you this, though; before I began squatting I DID HAVE KNEE PAIN. MY KNEES WERE WEAK. Think about this for a minute and ask yourself if this makes sense: Does it make sense that weak joints would be more prone to injury than strong joints? (the answer is yes) Does it make sense that if you are not strong enough to squat then your knees are probably weak (YES) Does it seem like a good idea then to perform squats so that we may strengthen our muscles and joints thereby alleviating pain and prevent injury? (DEFINITELY) Squats are not easy. If you havent done them for a while (or ever) they may hurt at first, but as you become stronger the pain will subside. So squat. Squat as often as you can and you will be rewarded with an exceptionally strong, mobile, and pain free lower body. *I give myself bonus points for performing these in moccasins. If you can do this exercise but you did it Sketchers Shape Ups please deduct points 100 points from your overall score. Actually, deduct 1 million. Thanks.
