SRI SAI SATCHARITA(PACK OF LIES) IF YOU STILL THINK THAT MR.GUNAJI’S SRI SAI SATCHARITA IS ACTUAL TRANSLATION OF MR.DABHOLKAR’S BOOK THAN CORRECT YOURSELF. In 1908 Govind Raghunath Dabholkar allias Hemadpant,a government clerk came to Shirdi first time to meet Baba.In 1910 he took permission from Sai Baba to write a biography of Sai Baba.Because of his family duties and job he could not write much till he retired in 1916.By the time Baba died he could write only two chapters out of 53 chapters.in those chapters he could write only day to day activities and highlight of Sai Baba as spiritual Guru.Actual work started on the book in 1923 when Mr.Dabholkar became the Treasurer of first managing committee of Sai Sansthan. Due to no previous experience of writing a book, very little knowledge of facts about Baba, he only blessed him to write but did not provide any information about himself. Dabholkar stated copying the contents from fifteenth century Marathi Classic text Sree Guru Charitra by Gangadhar Saraswati about the life of Dattatreya and his two major incarnation.Most of the inputs are from Sree Guru Charita even he kept the title of the book almost similar to take advantage of popularity of previous book.The book got published in 1929. Mr.Dabholkar was not at all aware of Isalm ,Sufism and Urdu language. Book written in verses(poetic form) always referred Sai Baba as ”Musalman Fakir”.and went on recorded few facts like “Sai Baba would occasionally go through the special muslim sacrificial ritual known as TAKYA,when a goat was killed on an altar,in order to ensure that meat would be HALAL or appropriately purified, he himself used to be present there.” Mr.N.V.Gunaji wrote in english and kept the title same with the subtitle “The wonderful life and teachings of Shri Sai Baba” publicized in 1944.This book was an adaption of Mr.Dabholkar’s book but not the word to word translation as par the popular concept and as publicized by Sai Baba Sansthan and Sai devotees. Mr.Gunaji has done lot of addition and deletion in the book.He added his own interpretation of Hindu Sadhu/Saints and also experiences of devotees from journal of Sansthan – Shri Sai Leela.He went to the extent of proving that Sai Baba was a Brahmin which is missing in the Marathi version of Satcharita,as Mr.Dabholkar acknowledged Baba as Muslim. Mr.Gunaji added section of his own Vedantic explanation not found in Mr.Dabholkar’s original.Many of the knowledge and thoughts of Hindu sacred books were included in Mr.Gunaji’s book. Mr.Gunaji clearly avoided any reference,incidence or action which is of Muslims ,Muslim Practices and Sufi Perceptions,in actual followed by Sai Baba. Some important deletion. 1.Mr.Gunaji wrote about Baba preparing Meat Pulav(Page No.202) but he deleted the regular practice of GOAT SLAUGHTERING. 2.Mr.Dabholkar recorded whatever is been told by Baba in Urdu to keep the sanctity of words, Mr.Gunaji omitted all the urdu words told by Baba. 3.The most important Abdul Baba lived 28 years with Baba as Personal Assistant his name has come in passing references only three times but not detailed about him.Though the people even met once were talked about in two pages sometimes. Abdul Baba maintained a diary where Sai Baba often asked him to write his thoughts.That diary is not translated yet. Do not like it,SHARE it.It must reach to as many people as possible.
