SRI SRI KAUSHAL VIKAS KENDRA, DHARAVI SSRDP – SRI SRI RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM , under the aegis of the Art of living foundation, has been working to focus on key issues across the country for improving the lives & livelihood capabilities for the Rural & Urban Underprivileged. It has worked on developing programs for tree plantation , Education & vocational Skills Training program, Women’s Empowerment , LIGHT A HOME – Solar electrification project for villages without electricity ,Pure water initiatives , Waste Management programs & more. SRI SRI KAUSHAL VIKAS KENDRA ( SSKVK) – under which all the Vocational Skills development program activities are initiated, is also working with TIHAR JAIL & YERAWADA JAIL & last week the SRI SRI KAUSHAL VIKAS TRAINING PROGRAM FOR BEAUTICIANS at TIHAR JAIL , was inaugurated by the Delhi CM Mrs. SHIELA DIXIT. As part of our ongoing efforts, we are opening another SRI SRI KAUSHAL VIKAS KENDRA ( SSKVK)- Centre at Dharavi. The focus of this centre will be to develop skill sets for self employment with programs like the Beauticians Training Program for Young & entrepreneurial Women , Training for Making ECO FRIENDLY IDOLS – GANESHA, DURGA, DIYAS ETC, Training Programs for youth – Drivers Training program, Housemaids Training Program etc. We are scheduling the inauguration of the centre on 30th June and Guruji has recommended that the centre would be inaugurated by Shri Sangeeta Jani, renowned for her work nationally & internationally in Women’s Development , Yoga & meditation programs & social development efforts. The location of the SSKVK Centre is in the heart of Dharavi , with a large area in front of almost 1 /2 acre . We would like to develop the area as a community centre where people can have a healthy green patch to have various activities. The area is currently very dirty and a corner of the same is used as a dumping ground .We would need 40 – 50 Volunteers to help clean up the area & do a tree plantation drive. Equipment needed would be for clearing the areas Shovels & carry pans & for tree plantation the Picks & trees. Ideally we can plant about 25- 30 trees on the border of the garden area. We would also like to do a sanitation education drive with the surrounding residents , supported with the local team led by Prashant – a hard working , Art of living teacher , at Dharavi. This would help the local residents to become more aware of health & sanitation & will help to develop & maintain the gardenpatch area. We are proposing the dates of 26th /27th June – Wed/ Thu for this Sanitation & tree Plantation Drive. The Estimated time would be 3- 4 hours , with 40-50 volunteers working together. Our proposed schedule would be 26th - Cleanliness & Sanitation drive 27th – Tree Plantation & Education of Health & Sanitation in the local neighborhood.
