SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01: All Parties Hurriyat Conference strongly castigated and condemned the authorities and said that they while ignoring the Holy month of Ramadan ,have imposed more stringent restrictions against Geelani and added after Syed Ali Geelani delivered his speech in Quran Conference at Jamia Masjid Hyderpora ,Police virtually locked his residence from outside and all those who come here are examined strictly .Hurriyat Conference said that Syed Ali Geelani had planned to interact people and to offer prayers on the eve of Jumat Ul Wida and Eid prayers but it looks that administration won’t allow and provide opportunity to him to offer religious obligations on these holly events,nor he would be allowed to meet people. Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that Hurriyat Conference on 28 th July had called a Quran Conference but police foiled and banned the said Quran Conference and added latter Tehreek Hurriyat decided to conduct the said conference in Jamia Masjid Hyderpora. In the meantime Syed Ali Geelani came out of his residence and before the police could understand the situation and try to stop him he boarded the vehicle and drove straight to mosque and presided over the conference. Spokesman added though after the conference was concluded a peaceful procession was organised and dispersed without creating any law and order problem for authorities. Spokesman said that the peaceful procession was an ample reply and provided a sufficient proof against the allegation levelled by Omer Abdullah wherein he had said that wherever Syed Ali Geelani goes, the incidents of stone pelting occurs there. Spokesman said that it is the chain of reaction from angry mob when police unleash a terror without any provocation .Spokesman said that after Syed Ali Geelani led the peaceful procession ,Police in order to curtail his liberty detained him and additional force of police contingent constantly watch the residence and its approach turned harsh and gates of his residence closed from outside. Hurriyat Conference has expressed hope that keeping in view the Jumat ul Wida and Eid ul Fitr ,authorities would allow Syed Ali Geelani to offer special obligatory prayers on these two holy occasions. Hurriyat spokesman while expressing it dismay over the role of the court and in its compliant and said though court had reserved its verdict against the detention of Syed Ali Geelani but since last two months the verdict is not being announced .Spokesman Ayaz Akbar Told Sach News in a Press Statement.
