SS Lesson Summary – Mon. “When Lust Conceives” Praise (1 Minute) SDAH 483 I Need Thee Every Hour I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby, Temptations lose their power, when Thou art nigh. I need Thee oh I need thee, every hour I need Thee, O bless me now my Savior, I come to Thee. Study (3 Mins.) James 1:13-15 “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death” We have all been tempted, and I am sure that all of us have fallen at one point, such discouragement and shame overcomes us, and we wonder how we could overcome. Well what better way than knowing how sin occurs? In the progression of sin, the first step is temptation, this could come in any form, and any one, (mind: “benefits” of wrong doing). The second step is that you lust after this temptation (mind: feelings and imaginations, what ifs?), as you continue to lust, you will seek opportunities, or be provided for the lust to conceive and bring forth sin (actions: just this once), and the results of sin is death. Just look at the similarities of this with Eve (Gen 3:1-6). Prayer: God’s help to earnestly pray, and live daily in faith, every hour, to allow Him to give us strength to resist!
