SSA TEACHERS BOYCOTT ELECTION TRAINING, THREATEN OF INDEFINITE STRIKE FROM NOVEMBER 11 Shaukat Rehman Tangmarg, November 8: The teachers of education zone Tangmarg and Kunzer thwarted the election duty training programme which was conducted by District administration in Govt Higher Secondary School Kunzer Tangmarg here today. The teachers alleged that their salary has not been released from last six months. The teachers working under centrally sponsered scheme SSA further said that they have been neglected by the govt from last two years as their salary is not released on time which has defamed their status in the society and elsewhere therefore they have decided to boycott election training and will continue their protest till their salary is released. Talking to reporters, RTTF spokesperson Mr Shaukat Rehman said that they have already informed the concerned authorities about their problem and its consequences . We have no other option to break the ice which has frozen the feelings of govt as they have no human emotions as to how a teacher can do without salary for six months. State and central govts blame one another for the problem, he said. We had earlier registered our protest against non availability of salary and govt had assured us of speedy redressal but till date no respite is seen from the govt, he added. It is pertinent to mention that SSA salary ratio is 65:35, 65 % share of SSA salary comes from centre whereas 35% share from state but both central and state govts have blamed one another for the SSA salary issue in the media. RTTF zonal president Tangmarg Mr Sheikh Irshad said that teachers are going through hard times and they are not even able to provide proper food clothing to their families and their wards have been discarded from the schools as they are not in a position to pay their school fee. If govt cant pay our salary they should not expect compliance of govt orders from us ,he added. Meanwhile, the zonal body of the forum presented a memorandum to SDM Tangmarg in which they threatened of indefinite strike from November 11 and election training/ Duty boycott in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
