SSNIT recovers GH ₵25.5 million • Between January and July this year, SSNIT, recovered a total of GH₵ 25.5 million through the prosecution of individual and organizations at the law courts. • The amount represents full recovery from a total of 1,756 cases relating to non-registration and non-payment of Social Security contributions of workers to SSNIT. • Some of the organizations are: Trade Union Congress, Vita Milk Ghana, O.A. Travel and Tours, State Housing Corporation Koforidua, Odo Rice Restaurant and Asankragwa Catholic Hospital. • Others include, St James Hotel, Koforidua, A.Star Microfinance Ltd, Takoradi, New Century Mines, Takwa and Happy Home Academy, Accra. • Currently there are a lot of cases pending in court and many have also been prosecuted over the years. • Mr. George Aguddy of the CPP is not the only person whose case had been settled in court over SSNIT contributions. • SSNIT would continue to prosecute defaulters as long as they refuse to make payment to ensure that workers do not become worse off after retirement.
