SSW5 5th/6th/7th June 2015 Our incredible new venue in the North of England next to the Scottish Border to be announced in a few days. #cantbuythevibe First of all can Caroline and I thank all of you that have attended each and every SSW over the last 4 years at our various homes. I don’t want to bore you all with the details of what is going on in the background, as many of you are already aware judging by the vast amount of e mails and FaceBook messages you have sent us. We thank you for the support and commitment that you continue to show us! This includes the many new friends and newbies that are pledging to attend SSW5 in the wake of the move from Preston to our new & exciting home. It’s all about the music & the people for SSW and that is what drives us and inspires us and we know that you guys appreciate that. SSW is a small, intimate, boutique weekender that prides itself on delivering a killer weekender, totally out there music with a smattering of underplayed classics and we want to be very approachable for our patrons concerns & requests. We have trusted in the old ethics of running clubs/events and SSW has been desperate to get on a camp site but because all of the other sites were utilised by other weekenders & not wanting to step on anybody else’s toes we steered clear of them, purely on an ethical basis built on old skool promoting values & we still believe in those values today. The fact that The Park Hall in Preston has been approached by another promoter is neither here nor there to us as we have ALWAYS (for almost four years now) been looking to move SSW to the site that we are about to announce. We have been holding off waiting for the whole new fleet of luxury static homes to be delivered to this incredible, award winning site and that has now happened. We have signed, sealed and will deliver the most incredible venue with the most amazing, modern, spotless accommodation imaginable. The function rooms are on a par with any weekender that I have ever been to in 25 years of attending gigs of that nature and it is serviced by a mainline train route with a 10 minute local line journey also. The SSW people that have been canvassed on the venue cannot believe that this space has never been on the weekender radar but we are VERY pleased to say that the proprietor has attended a few weekenders now and has decided that SSW will be the only event of this nature at this venue. So, SSW will still be one of the best dance music weekenders in the North and will be going from strength to strength and will be here to stay! Music, people and friends are the core reason for our motivation in this move….
