ST. ALOYSIUS GONZAGA June 21, 2103 Gospel Mt 6:19-23 Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be. “The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light; but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness. And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be.” WHAT DO YOU VALUE IN LIFE? We often forget that the most valuable thing is not for sale because no amount of money can equate its true importance in our life and that is LOVE. YEs we give material things to express our love but as they say, its not the worth but the intention that counts...you have a million in your hands and you give me a motorcycle worth P60,000...and there is one, who has 5 pesos and gave me 5 pcs of snowbear candy...which is more valuable? The first gave me only a portion but the latter gave me everything...SEE MONEY IS NOT THE TRUE MEASURE OF VALUE BUT LOVE and love is beyond measure...its either you LOVE or not...no middle ground. One of the greatest gift I received was from a Priest, My Friend when i was in grade school...Fr. Edward Klippert SJ...it was a prayer to the Boy Savior...a stampita...it was not wrapped in gold but He was already in His death bed when he thought of me and asked someone to had it mailed to my house...HOW ABOUT YOU, COULD YOU THINK OF ANYTHING MORE PRECIOUS THAN THAT WHEN ONE GIVES YOU LOVE IMMEASURABLE....the true value of that gift really came beyond measure because that taught me another immeasurable value....the value of Generosity...Indeed its better to give than to receive....giving actually begets sharing for how can you receive when there is no one to give you something...we dont have everything but we will never be without anything if we only learn to give and share what we have....LORD THANK YOU FOR SHARING FR. KLIPPERT TO ME...IN RETURN LORD GRANT ME THE GRACE TO BE GENEROUS AS HE IS TO ME...THAT I TOO MAY PAY IT FORWARD FOR I KNOW THAT WE ARE BUT SHARERS OF YOUR LOVE AND WE DARE TO LOVE YOU BACK BECAUSE YOUR LOVE COMPLETES US, IT IS WHO WE TRULY ARE "we are loved."
