ST. CEPHAS OUTREACH Text: Genesis 4:12-19 You can go from problems to prosperity. When people who have the authority to bless you bless you, you will have success, progress and prosperity, and breakthroughs, effortlessly. In Proverbs 10:22, the Bible says: “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” We have seen people who work very hard, yet continue to wear rags. This is because there are no blessings on them. Some people sell ordinary water to become millionaires; this is because there is blessings backing their endeavours. Ephraim and Manasseh are good examples (Genesis 48). Joseph brought them to their father for prayers. Manasseh was the first-born while Ephraim was the second-born. Joseph put Manasseh under the right hand of Jacob, and Ephraim under the left hand of Jacob, according to their tradition. Jacob then did something very strange. He could not see very well but was being guided by the Holy Spirit. He crossed his hands and placed his right hand on the head of Ephraim, and the left hand on the head of Manasseh. Joseph complained, but Jacob insisted. He said that the two of them would be blessed, but that the younger would be greater than the elder. What happened next is recorded in our text: “And by him shall the tribe of Manasseh: and the captain of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred. All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were an hundred thousand and eight thousand and an hundred, throughout their armies. And they shall go forward in the third rank.” At the time that Ephraim and Manasseh were being blessed, they were single. Within a few years after the blessing, both of them multiplied and one became 32,000 while the other become 108,000. How do we explain this difference? It was the bigger blessing against the smaller blessing. We can imagine what would have happened if one was blessed and the other was cursed. When God blesses you, every mountain in your life becomes a valley; every problem becomes a testimony. I counsel you to do everything you can in order to secure divine blessing.
