ST. VINCENT Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy. A young boy whose parents have just divorced finds an unlikely friend and mentor in the misanthropic, bawdy, hedonistic war veteran who lives next door. This is Bill Murray at his deadpan old curmudgeon best. A drunkard, a slob, offensive and mostly a loser at the race track but on the silver screen hes just great fun. Melissa, usually at her over-the-top best, plays it straight letting Murray work his magic. Of course he corrupts the kid while teaching him some important life lessons. Though always in character those around him manage to some good lurking within him to setup some wonderful heart warming final scenes. 3 stars for some fun filled Murray moments at the movies.
