STAFF REPORT BRITT — A 46-year-old man was injured and hospitalized late Saturday afternoon when the snowmobile he was skipping on a pond behind the Britt bypass pulled him under the water. He was wearing a helmet and life jacket and surfaced when the accident happened at 5 p.m.. Bystanders went to the aid of Vincent James Dishneau, of Britt, and brought him back to shore where he was unconscious. CPR was administered and his pulse and breathing were restored, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department reported. Dishneau was taken by the Virginia Ambulance to a landing zone where he was airlifted to St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. His condition was unknown by authorities on Saturday evening. Virginia Ambulance, Pike-Sand-Britt First Responders and LifeLink III assisted. The incident remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department.
