My father was a skydiving instructor in the late 70s and early 80s but quit before I was born. He had always offered to pay for a static line jump and one day I took him up on the offer. We went to Ripcord Skydivers in Gatton, Queensland, which was run by a guy my father used to jump with and I did my first jump... and my second, third and fourth that weekend. Since then I have jumped in five different countries, from hot air balloons, helicopters, piston engine aircraft, turbine and twin turbine aircraft and made a lot of friends and had a lot of fun. What is the most memorable reaction or comment you’ve ever received from one of your tandem passengers? Lots of tandems have been memorable for different reasons though generally it is the passengers that are upbeat and into it that I enjoy the most. I also like it when a PFF student, particularly those that struggle, have their eureka moment and all of a sudden what they are trying to learn makes sense. If you could only do one more jump for the rest of your life, what would you plan to do on that jump? I would probably do a heli jump and cruise around somewhere cool in a big wing suit alone and enjoy the feel of it and the view. What’s one thing about you that would surprise people? I write poetry and music... nah I am about as artistic as your average kitchen table. I am pretty loud and forthcoming so I doubt there is anything interesting about me that people dont already know.
