STAFF TRAINING WILL BE A PRIDE OF PLACE IN OSUN – HOS The Head of Service of the State of Osun, Mr. Sunday Owoeye , has hinted that training and re-training of Public Servants in the state will be given a pride of place. The Head of Service disclosed this while declaring open a 2-day workshop on Public Service Ethics and Information Management organised by the management of Osun Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) for its workforce. Mr. Owoeye stressed that training and re-training are ways of equipping and re-vitalising the public service adding that it is a sine qua non for human development. He expressed his happiness for the management of the Commission to train its workforce acknowledging that the enormity of the work before the commission requires the constant upgrading of its staff. The Head of Service stressed the need for in-house training programme to be carried out from time to time in the entire public service of the state. He also urged them to put into use the skills they will garner from the training as they will benefit magnificently from the programme. Mr. Owoeye then implored them to be good ambassadors of the commission and the State of Osun. Earlier, the Chairman of the Commission had stated that the workshop was organised by the Commission to equip members of staff with relevant skills required in the discharge of their duties and prepare them for the conduct of referendum and local government election in the state. He then charged members of staff of the commission to always strive to be above board in whatever they are doing by improving on their ability saying that only.
