STAFFING SERVICES SCHEDULING CLERK – Queen Victoria Hospital (Casual) Reference Code: 00690860 POSITION SUMMARY: Interior Health is hiring a Casual Staffing Services Scheduling Clerk for the Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke. This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week. In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, working within a customer-focused, team-oriented framework the Staffing Services Scheduling Clerk reports to the Staffing Services Scheduling Manager performing staffing, scheduling and payroll clerical functions within a fully automated system, allocating and calling-in relief staff, and generating reports utilizing computer equipment and related software. SOME TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Allocates and calls in relief staff to fill vacancies according to established procedures and collective agreements, making the necessary calculations such as seniority, availability and employee status. Offers department/service managers recommendations for implementing cost effective alternative scheduling solutions. • Maintains staffing systems, such as current schedules, orientation schedules, casual rosters, seniority lists and telephone log sheets. • Performs a variety of reception and clerical duties such as answering telephones and transferring calls, responding to employee inquiries, processing mail, filing, photocopying; types materials such as reports, evaluations and correspondence; • Performs other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training and Experience: Grade 12, plus three years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Skills and Abilities: • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Ability to deal with others effectively. • Ability to organize work. • Ability to operate related equipment. • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
