STAFFORD RANGERS JUNIOR MATCH REPORT Stafford Rangers U12s-Lichfield League team Stafford Rangers U12s 4 Kewford Eagles South U12s 3 Stafford Rangers welcomed Stourbridge Junior Premier league leaders to the JW Stadium for a friendly as they where without a fixture, Kewford came with an undefeated record and a goal difference of +62. Rangers got off to the perfect start when Danny Stevens headed home Owen Turners free kick within the first minute, Kewford seemed to be shell shocked and Rangers could have doubled there lead when Nathan Ray fired straight at the keeper. Soon Kewford started to make in roads at Rangers where they seemed to have the extra man in the middle which was causing Rangers problems, it came as no surprise when they equalised when the cross seem to come off the Rangers defender for an own goal. Harry Hornby should have put Rangers back in front when clean through he saw his shot well saved. Kewford made it 1-2 when there striker brilliantly dragged the ball back, swivelled and fired home which saw the large crowd all applaud what was a fantastic goal. At the break Rangers made 6 changes and altered thier shape to accommodate Kewfords strong midfield, and it was soon 2-2 when Gabriel Hughes played Christian Blanchette through who fired home from just inside the box. The game was turning into a brilliant advert for junior football, Bradley Foster-Theniger saved well to keep Rangers in the game, but it was soon 3-2 when Christian Blanchette got his 2nd when Jay Ford played a 20 yard pass to send his clear, with 2 defenders and a keeper all closing in he rifled home. Kewford came back again and it was 3-3 soon Foster-Theniger made a brilliant save when the forward looked clearly offside, his save came off the bar and was tapped home by the in rushing forward. Parents where trying to catch their breath when it was soon 4-3, Rangers shot was charged down by the defenders raised arms, James Black made no mistake with the keeper guessing wrong. Both teams must take full credit in what was a brilliant advert for both clubs and with both sets of parents showing full respect to each other it was a very enjoyable afternoon.
