STAMPING or PROGRESSIVE TOOL & DIE MAKER I have 3 or 4 clients that are looking for Tool and Die Makers with Stamping Experience. These positions are with companies that are expanding and not laying off like a lot of companies right now. Positions would be direct hires with OT available. Job Duties • Study specifications such as blue prints, sketches, models, or descriptions • Visualize repair requirement to determine materials required and machines used to fabricate necessary repair components. • Compute dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly method and sequence of operations. • Measure, mark, and scribe metal stock for machining. • Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes, Milling machines, EDM’s, and grinders. • Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications. • Lift machined parts and position and secure parts on a surface plate or worktable. • Fit and assemble smooth and contoured parts together into assemblies. • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances. • Connect wiring and hydraulic lines for electrical and hydraulic components. • Examine standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures as reference. • Recommend design modifications and improvements regarding existing tool construction and function of current tooling design. • Develop specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools. • Draw or sketch improved design layout of current tool construction method. • Use CAD system to determine size of components to be machined Qualifications (Education, Experience & Other Skills): • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school, 3-5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Journeyman card preferred. • Ability to read blueprints and work with complicated mathematical concepts. • Strong problem solving skills. • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry. 1st Shift
