STAND FIRM, NOW SURRENDER The more I learn, the more I grow, - TopicsExpress

STAND FIRM, NOW SURRENDER The more I learn, the more I grow, the less comfort I can find in absolutes. Absolutely eat a clean, Paleo diet...unless your body likes grains. Absolutely confirm with scientific research this new thing you follow...unless your heart and spirit tell you right now its the thing you must do. Absolutely work towards your passions and vision for your life daily...unless youve been pulled deep into a season of detaching your worth from that which you give in the world. Absolutely love all and see only love...unless theres reason to stand against and speak up against something worth hating. Life is riddled with paradoxes, the swinging between absolutes. I believe now that spiritual maturity lies in being humbly willing to let yourself swing back and forth between extremes and then straddle a balance somewhere in the middle...and then maybe again to one side...or the other. Balance. Ive been so extreme in my life, that I once thought it an impossible illusion. Im learning that it takes much strength and courage to be willing to let go of that which once served you and no longer fuels. Let go and let yourself swing...and at the same time, remain firmly committed in the places youre still called. Only you know whats true. But dont think that means youre off the hook for doing whats right. For you, for the world, for life in this moment. The eyes of your conscience are always watching, and if you try to hide, they will haunt you in your dreams... and still, there is infinite grace when you hide and then seek to return (remember the prodigal son?). This is the spiritual practice of a lifetime. Your ego hates it. There are no manuals for when, where and for what reason to swing, to choose new. You cant look to your past identity for the answers. You cant look to the guru, the leader or the sage (and yet the perfect ones will find you when you open your eyes to look and humble enough to receive the things you dont want to hear). The answers only lie in the whispers of your spirit and the movement of life around you, begging you to ebb, then flow. Stand firm, then surrender. You are no weaker for changing course. You are no coward for changing your mind from the stand which you once professed. Because you are not the things you used to believe, the ones you believe now, or the beliefs still veiled in the future. Love, The stubborn girl who sometimes changes her mind
