STANISLAUS PURSUIT ENDS IN DELHI - SUSPECT ELUDES CAPTURE DELHI, CA - A man driving a dark-colored Chevrolet pickup truck led CHP officers on a vehicle pursuit which began in Stanislaus County and came to an end in a residential area of Delhi in Merced County. CHP units from the Merced area picked up the chase at approximately 8 pm on Saturday as the driver exited from Highway 99 at Shanks Rod where he continued east until turning right onto Vincent Road. The vehicle finally came to rest at a residence on 6th street where the driver immediately ran from the vehicle and was able to elude capture. A description of the suspect was unknown at the time of this writing and the reason why the driver was originally being pursued was also not available. The CHP is asking anyone with information as to who or where the driver is are encouraged to call the Merced CHP at (209) 356-2958.
