STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION was a 1990-launched (to coincide with the TV show finally securing a slot on BBC TWO) fortnightly (latterly monthly) from MARVEL UK which reprinted, under license, the DC Comics strips (starting with the six-part limited series) and articles from the Official Starlog magazines (not Starlog itself). Originated text material was kept to an absolute minimum. Many readers expected M-UK to reprise DOCTOR WHO MAGAZINE and were disappointed to discover that this was all-reprint and pitched at a younger audience. Sales were obviously poor as, belatedly, M-UK relaunched it as a monthly but, by that point, the damage was already done and it shuttered a few issues later. The free cover-mount was the red Federation symbol fabric patch.
