STARING POINT (For an intermediate yoga practice) For a safe and successful yoga practice I, was first taught the importance of moving in and out of the poses in good alignment. To make this happen I, had to learn to move mindfully, slowly and carefully from beginning to end. It seemed dangerous to go in and out of the poses too fast and with poor alignment. During the trajectory of any specific pose I, was told to find proper alignment and fully extend, compress or twist my body to my very best, then hold. I, was always mentally aware of my breath. During this time every fiber of my body was activated. My vitality (stability) and energy (movement) were concentrated into one. This concentration is necessary to open the mind which in turn will change the challenging physical and mental effort during the poses or life if, you will, into something pleasant, soothing and powerful.
