STATE OF EMERGENCY Our Sovereignty is Threatened 1. We need to support our Delegates and encourage them to remove Herb Yazzie unanimously. 2. We need to have Council take away the privilege of David Jordan and Justin Jones to practice law on the reservation. 3. We need Council to protect our direct access to the government, which is the Legislative Branch. 4. We need to have a Speaker appointed post haste so that person can be appointed Interim President of the Navajo Nation. 5. We need Council to keep Richie Nez from being appointed back to OHA, as hearing officer. 6. We need language fluency legislation to be passed because this issue will not go away. 7. We need to keep the pardon of NBOES in place. 8. We need Judicial Reform/Retention legislation passed, ASAP. What is going on in the Navajo Nation is an UNPRECEDENTED STATE OF EMERGENCY and should be treated as such. Naabikiyati can convene and since they need a majority they can introduce things, possibly pass them and make them law. This can affect the daily functions of the Navajo Nation and funding. All of these elections which might push to 3 could cost a total of $1.5 million.
