STATE OF THE NATION We learn from history and it is a benchmark for measuring a better future. In our national life, which of our previous governments to date can we say met the expectations of what can be called Good Governance? Taking into consideration all aspects of governance (economic progress, human rights, absence of corruption, infrastructural development, progressive index of human development, fairness and justice, security and a sound democratic level playing field) - that is the idea of what good governance is. Which government has had these together in Nigeria? If none has had it all together, what is the basis for crying fowl against every government? Let me put it this way... do we have candidates in the current clamour for the Presidency in 2015 who can give us all the above within 4 years or 8 years based on their verifiable credentials? If none of our aspirants today do not have the credentials and potentials to give us the above, then we must continue the search. If you ask me, all our present candidates are a chip off the old block of what we have always had. If there are a new breed of politicians who fit into this bill, they either do not have the platform or the deep pocket to be in politics. The waiting continues...
