STATE STREET MILE SATURDAY AUGUST 3, 2013 Rockford, IL – The annual State Street Mile race will be held on Saturday, August 3rd 2013 on East State Street from just east of Summit Street to Wyman Street. Traffic will be impacted as follows: • East State Street will be closed from the corner of North Wyman Street east to Water Street at 3:00 p.m. for set up. Additional closure of East State from Water Street east to the entrance of SwedishAmerican Hospital at East State and Summit will occur between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. Smaller streets that intersect State will also be closed during that time period. • 100 Water St. from E. State to Market St. as well as the Municipal Lot T at this corner. will be closed from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. • Police traffic control on arterials such as 2nd, 3rd, 6th ,7th and 9th Streets will hold cars during individual heats, and will permit cross traffic only when possible. Emergency vehicle access and cars seeking access to SwedishAmerican hospital will be permitted as necessary. • Local businesses will remain open, but neighbors are urged to try and avoid activities on the route.
