STATEHOUSE PURPOTED MEETING C&P***by opamella edwin As a regular commentator and diehard CORD supporter, I want to weigh in with my views on this. First, I am not opposed to a meaningful meeting that will bring stability and development to our Country. But for this one, I say a BIG NO and I advise THE RIGHT HONOURABLE PRIME MINISTER RAILA ODINGA not to attend this purported meeting unless certain conditions are met. Something tells me that the NIS and other security apparatus have warned the GOVERNMENT that Kenya is headed to very difficult times and the only way they can survive is to BRING the PM on board. They know that with the PM around, they will quickly earn legitimacy (which is lacking) and will attract international goodwill which the PM has. They want to use the PM to survive the Illegal Government , especially in the face of SANCTIONS, ICC cases due to begin next month, Economic depression, lack of Grants from Development partners and restless local labour relations/ armed forces. These fellows seem to have sensed that if the PM stays outside the system, they have very limited options, and that Kenya is sinking. UHURUTO are heavy investors and they know the political economy is not favourable at all. By wanting to meet the PM, they know they will benefit themselves. What I would urge the PM and his handlers is to do are the following; First, he MUST insist that since he is an institution, any meeting involving him MUST have Kalonzo, Wetangula, Orengo, Omar Hassan and a few other CORD leaders. Secondly, they should provide written information to him two days before the meeting, clearly stating the agenda and how they think he can be of help. Third, if they want reconciliation, let them publicly state and acknowledge what wrong they think they have committed against him so that he can go to the meeting knowing what to forgive and reconcile on Fourth, if they want his international goodwill to steady the ship, let them also agree that they stole his victory and that UHURU acts as a caretaker President for a maximum of 1 year. During this time, we reform IEBC, register new voters and go to proper elections in 2014. The elections should only affect Presidency Fifth, UHURUTO should agree to reconstitute their illegal Government to reflect the face of Kenya during this transitional period If these conditions are not adhered to, let our PM refuse to meet these ICC indicted fellows. After all it is they who need him, not the other way round. If he ignores these points and goes ahead to meet them, then he will lose points. More tragically, he will have fallen in the trap where the ship might sink with him as a co-driver. They seem to suggest that they know his weaknesses and that offering him a state job will tame him. That will be tragic. Let him beat them in their own game
