STATEMENT FROM WEST AFRICA YOUTH ORGANIZATION We condemn in every uncertain terms the Attack by militants on innocent students in Nigeria. The action is most barbaric and completely unacceptable. The young people in Nigeria have a right to education and deserve to get good quality education in an atmosphere of peace without any fear of being attacked. This action is an affront to morality and justice, it remains most inhuman and undignified. We condolence the families and victims of this unfortunate incident, our deepest sympathies to goes to them. We wish to call on the government of Nigeria, to the best of their abilities guarantee the safety of students and offer the needed security at all times. Schools must be the safest places for students in any country and Nigeria must not be an exception. We call on ECOWAS, member states and the international community to address this treat with all the urgency and seriousness with a concerted effort. A threat to Nigeria is a threat to the entire West African sub region. We cannot be safe and secured if Nigeria is on fire.
