STRINGER ON THE MEDICAL EXAMINERS REPORT ON THE DEATH OF ERIC GARNER “Eric Garner’s death was a tragedy and I would like to again extend my deepest sympathy to his family at this difficult time. While today we know more about the reasons for his death, we are all too aware that no facts or actions can bring him back. When tragedies occur, they are a wakeup call that we simply cannot continue with the status quo. This is an important time for all of us to come together and find the common ground that unites us as a city. We can, and must, do better.”
