STATEMENT OF PROPOSALS This Statement of Proposals is an important document as it: • Provides an opportunity for the community to gain an insight into the major challenges and opportunities facing Logan City • Enables the community to better understand the future challenges and Council proposals to manage growth and change for the benefi t of the new greater Logan • Sets out Logan City’s broad land use strategies and • Provides the opportunity for the community to make an important contribution to the process of deciding how the identifi ed challenges and issues for Logan City can be addressed through the new Logan City Planning Scheme. Logan City Council is required under Schedule 1, Section 2.1.5 of the Integrated Planning Act 1997 to produce a Statement of Proposals to: (a) identify matters the local government anticipates the new planning scheme will address (b) state how the local government intends to address each core matter (including its component parts) in preparing the planning scheme and (c) if the local government is in a designated region— state how the local government anticipates the new planning scheme will refl ect the region’s regional plan. In summary, the planning scheme coordinates and integrates infrastructure needs, land use and development, valuable features, and takes into account any State and regional dimensions.
