STIRLING 10K - EVENT INFO. Thank you for entering the Stirling 2K / 10K event this Sunday 15th September. We look forward to seeing you there. Your bib number and timing chip can be collected at the following places: Run4It shop in Bridge of Allan - from 9-5 on Saturday 14th Sept. At the Peak Sports Centre - 5:30pm until 8pm on Saturday 14th Sept. At the start line registration from 07:30am on Sunday 15th. You are advised to get there early. All entrants will be emailed their bib number - please bring this email with you to speed up administration. Event times are as follows: Stirling 2K: 09:30 start. Stirling 10K: 10:15 start. Directions to Forthbank Stadium: From Edinburgh/Glasgow/Perth on the M9/M80, exit at junction 9. Follow for the A91 to Bannockburn/Stirling. Continue on the A91 through a further 3 roundabouts. At the 4th roundabout take the 2nd exit for Forthbank Stadium/Springkerse Industrial Area. You should then see signs directing you to parking. Parking: Please arrive early to allow plenty of time for parking. We have access to limited amounts of parking space around Forthbank. Please be patient and follow directions at all times. To ease congestion we strongly advise runners to use the large parking areas at Morrison’s supermarket/Springkerse retail park a few minutes walk from the start. Please note: Please do not use car parking at the Peak leisure centre next to Forthbank. We need to keep the parking area clear for customers. Race number and chip: Your race number must be securely attached to the front of your vest/T-shirt and must not be cut or perforated. Make sure that the number is displayed vertically and not folded when finishing. Your time will be measured using a Winning Time chip.. The chip should be securely attached to your running shoe using the plastic cable ties provided. Do not attach the chip to anywhere other than your running shoes as your time may not be registered. for instructions on how to attach your chip please click here. If you decide not to compete please return the chip to Interloq Ltd., Rosyth Business Centre, 16 Cromarty Campus, Rosyth, KY11 2WX, ensuring you put a Large Letter stamp on. YOUR CHIP WILL BE COLLECTED AFTER YOU FINISH. Information, Toilets and Changing Facilities An information desk will be open from 8:30am at the start/finish area. There are limited changing and shower facilities available at Forthbank Stadium and the Peak. Please come ready to run if at all possible. There are no lockers for storing valuables. Toilets will be available at Forthbank Stadium and the Peak, and portaloos will be at the start area. Race route The race route is the same as 2011 and 2012. A map is available on the Central AC website and will also be displayed on race day at the information desk. The route has been accurately measured and is fast and flat. Distance markers will be placed at 1k intervals. There will be 1 water station on the route. When taking water from stations please be aware of other runners around you and discard cups/bottles safely to the side of the road. The 2K will follow and out-and-back route on the first 1K of the 10K route. Safety information The route has been planned to be as safe as possible, however please take responsibility for your own safety. The route is on roads that are open to traffic. Please follow the directions of police and race marshals at all times. Please keep to the left hand side of the road unless directed otherwise. Please note: runners must be able to hear the directions of race marshals at all times. We advise runners to not use iPods/personal music players to help ensure your race is as safe as possible. The route will pass close to the ongoing works at the railway station - runners are advised to part particular attention to the stewards at this point, even if you have to slow down or stop - your safety is paramount. Race doctors and St Andrews First Aiders will be at the start/finish area and out on the course. If you are feeling unwell or are involved in an accident please inform the nearest marshal as soon as possible. Please complete the details on the back of your race number providing details of any existing medical condition, illness and any medication you are taking.
