STOKE Easy Rider Potters hope to continue their good recent home form when they entertain local rivals Buxton in the National League at Loomer Road on Saturday, 7pm. The two sides have already met this season in a challenge meeting which saw the Hitmen take an aggregate victory and in the National Trophy which saw both sides complete home victories. Both sides will be looking to gain their first league points of the season with Stoke having lost all three of their opening fixtures against Coventry who did the double over the Potters and the Isle of Wight who beat the Potters at the Smallbrook Stadium last month. The Hitmen have also lost both their opening fixtures losing out to King’s Lynn at the Norfolk Arena and Coventry at their Hi-Edge raceway, but it is the Potters who are currently rock bottom of the National League table. The Potters name the same team that has seen them take victories in their past two home meetings as they continue to use rider replacement for the injured Ben Reade meaning the other six riders are all able to take an extra ride to cover his absence. Buxton are led by their inspirational number one Charles Wright who chalked up a 21 point maximum on his last visit to the Chesterton circuit and he will be supported by the vastly experienced Adam McKinna. Former Potter Liam Carr will be looking to impress his former employers after missing out on a team place with the Potters this season and he will partner Ryan Blacklock who has returned to the Hitmen side after injury. The Hitmen will use rider replacement for Tony Atkin and as with the Potters all the other six riders are able to cover for his absence. Tom Woolley and Matt Williamson complete the Hitmen line up and both can score well on their day. Both teams will be looking for the win especially the Potters having rode one meeting more than the Hitmen if they are to be serious contenders for a top four play off place the season really does start now for the Loomer Road club. Stoke: Lee Smart, Luke Chessell, Ben Reade Rider Replacement, Luke Priest, Kyle Hughes, Shaun Tedham, Lee Payne, Team Manager: Malcolm Vasey Buxton: Charles Wright, Tony Atkin Rider Replacement, Ryan Blacklock, Liam Carr, Adam McKinna, Tom Woolley, Matt Williamson, Team Manager: Jack Lee Following on from the league meeting the second round of the Midland Development League Grand Prix will take place with home rider Sam Ward looking to put some points on the board. Ward will come up against seven other riders including Aaron Mogridge who is the son of former Potters rider Alan Mogridge. Mogridge has already ridden at Stoke this season scoring eight points for the Milton Keynes Knights. Lee Springthorpe and Rob Shuttleworth have also ridden at Loomer Road this year Shuttleworth being the most recent. Line Up: Sean Phillips, Sam Ward, David Holt, Lee Springthorpe, Lawrence Fielding, Trevor Bebbington, Aaron Mogridge, Rob Shuttleworth
