STOLEN Slack track; black tack. Oh, how you take And never give back; relentless! You, like molasses, slip Like a monotonous drip With no conscience, Southwards; downwards, With lash of vicious tongue; With no compassion. You crow and brag about your glories, Taken in lust, through jealousy and mistrust, The never-ending sugar; bitter slime; A deception to the naked eye in search of truth. Attracting greed like the grime of your conception. The bizarre box cars you carry Past petruding poplars in their pompous state, Carving alluring roadways that negate Your passing in half; laughing at their inferiority. You barge like a bully, Pushing the nuisance of nature aside With your trolley; The constant clack Of your gaps – you buzz with your steam – You whistle in a silence that spells death. Onward; ever onward; into the distance, Beneath the naked eye, the invisible gap Between land and sky – But the distance never seems to arrive. There is no hope, as the desperate grope For the answers; why? It is a contrived notion Of a belief; the grief of the abandoned, As one glorious lie trips over another, No relief; you take Father, Brother, Mother, Lover! Your destination – all crammed like pigs, No food or water for days, each with a bag – A singular bag, marked with a sign; Dazed, confused, frightened and exhausted – All they have left in a lonely world – tortured, You tear then apart; whole families… Lines of them stripped and left naked. Never-ending humiliation – their destination Your despicable cleansing; Gas; Fumigation; Annihilation!
