STONER CREEK FIRE Cause: Under Investigation Detected: August 18, 2013 18:00 Location: West of Lakeside on Blacktail Road Legal Description: Lat. 48° 01.1, Long. 114°16.8 Current size: 105 acres Jurisdiction: Plum Creek Land with protection by USDA-FS, Northern Region, Flathead National Forest, Swan Lake Ranger District Current Status: Wednesday, August 21, 2013, fire crews continued mopping up and securing the fires edge. Some crews were released to assist on other fires. The Incident Commander anticipates 100 percent containment by days end. Over the next few days 20 firefighters will remain to monitor and patrol the fire while and rest of the resources will be released Thursday to assist with other fires. The Stoner Creek Fire was detected Sunday, August 18 about 6:00 pm and is located west of Lakeside, MT along the Blacktail Road. Current fire size is estimated at 105 acres. The fire is on Plum Creek land with fire protection by USDA-Forest Service, Flathead National Forest, Swan Lake Ranger District. The fire burned to the east of an area burned by the 2009 Baldy Fire. .
