STOPPING BY WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING...... And miles to go before I sleep; and miles to go before I sleep........I walked ten thousand miles and more stopping by the woods, gargling with the streams, frisking off the sky with the wings of a bird, falling in love like only a child can dare to ; laughing out in joy after knowing unearable pain.just like Veera...with the symphony in highway..... For someone who was deeply moved by Jab we met (yet never acknowldged it beyond one of the better bollywood masalas), found love aaj kal bearable in parts and Rockstar a film that had million things gone wrong in an otherwise untreaded territorry...faith in Imtiaz was hardly on a steadfast ground and coupled with discouragement from many quarters was hardly in any deep urge to bear yet another bolly potboiler....but egged on by a dear friend of youth...took the plunge...and Highway from its very first canvas drew me in...and I was lost in its panaromic landscapes of storytelling....for all I now it is acutely difficult for me to make any observations about the film objectively.....the final triumph of a film....!!!!!! Veera was me in those moments....the child of nature..perhaps it took one who was ravished, torn and shredded by the civilized and refined to look fearlessly straight into the eyes of the crude, the rsw, the unrefined.......veera s charecter was perceptive enough to view beyond the facades if th harmful and the harmless....the film Is poised with beautiful silences rarely seen in bollywood hence dismissed by so many......yet the silences are more organic than many disjointed dialogues that make way in the typical hindi churners....amidst he real heroes of the film A.r Rehman, The cinematographer, Imtiaz Ali, Alia bhatt....randeep hood too most amiably and subtly holds his own.....the film drenches me with so many exiquisite moments...that they fill ed uo my senses long after the journey is over....the moments love you and you love them back deeply just like Veera and for the first time the realisation hits.....that love is not to be mapped, planned and laid out....it is not a showcase of where you started from and where you aim to finish.....love a flow of stream which kaugh and cry at the same time....love is...living the moment... I loved the film...,.....(despite minor flaws here and there) cause this is one that I could call my own..... Whose woods these are, I think I know/His house is in the village though/he will not see me stopping here/To watch his woods fill up with snow.....The woods are lovely , dark and deep/but I have promises to keep/and miles to go before I sleep and miles to go before I sleep...........
