STORM INFO: As everyone knows by now, we survived the storms and tornado warnings last night with relatively few problems compared to other cities in the region. However, one thing we continue to see with these storms is the backup of the storm sewers in certain areas of the city causing high water and flooding for brief periods until the drains are able to catch up. We really need to remind everyone not to drive through these areas of high water. We towed three cars last night because they were disabled due to them being driven through high water. According to the news, we expect to see more of these storms this evening. We ask that everyone remember that most of these high water situations are very temporary and go away quickly after the rain stops. Try to stay off the roads during these storms but if you are out and approach an area of high water, turn around and find an alternate route. The few minutes of inconvenience is much better than any of the alternatives.
