STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART A Spirit of Compromise Margaret Thatcher once said that If you set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing. When we compromise we make concessions or accommodate people who do not agree with God’s high principles and standards. God does not condone the behavior of people who compromise His standards. Psalm 119:1 – 4 tells us that Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His path. In order not to compromise, we have to totally submit to God regardless to the godlessness in the world. As we hear the report about the Sudanese young married lady being sentenced to death because she refused to renounce Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we have to question ourselves about what we would have done under the same circumstance. You see, this young lady realize that the word says that for her to live is Christ, and to die is gain Phil 1:21. Should she compromise her high godly standards, she would have temporary life now but suffer eternal destruction whereas if she does not she would have a shorter life on earth but an eternal life in heaven. The moral of this story is in the form of a question. Is it worth it to” gain the whole world and lose your soul?” It is true, only what you do for Christ will last forever. The spirit of compromise can only bring us sorrow. Stand up for righteousness and have a blessed day. \
