STRAIGHT TALK WITH GOD WRITTEN BY: ESTIE KOLESKY Dear Lord, I often write to You. I’m never afraid to pour out my heart to You. I can express my deep pain, frustration, hurt, shame, and confusion. I can always end my cries of despair by declaring that You are good. You are still in control. You are worthy to be praised and honoured. I do not monitor my words when talking to You. I’m not worried that I would shock or offend You. I say exactly what I’m feeling. O my God, I cry out by day, then You answer. I’m not poured out like water, and my bones are not out of joint. My heart is not turned to wax. It has not melted away within me. My strength has not dried up like a potsherd. My tongue does not stick to the roof of my mouth. You counted all my bones. Because of You, people stare and gloat over me. O Lord, You are not far off. O my Strength, You come quickly to help me. You deliver my life. You rescue me. You save me. For You never despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted ones. You do not hide your face from me but listen to my cry for help. They who seek You will praise You.
