STRATEGIC GOVERNANCE E-A-R-L-Y W-A-R-N-I-N-G S-I-G-N-A-L!!! “Boko Haram is Beyond 2015: Southern Nigeria, Protect Your Land” We are very mindful of the activities of Boko Haram in Northern Nigeria, ravaging, killing and kidnapping our young school girls endlessly. It started as handful of political hegemony of the Sokoto Caliphate, sponsored by Northern politicians as they perceived power had eluded them. Their original perception was that their former Prime Minister made them to believe that they are “born to rule”, while other were slaves. “The new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great-grandfather, Uthman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities of the North as willing tools and the South as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us, and never allow them to have control over their future.” Sir Ahmadu Bello. With this faulty imagination, coupled with their lack of Western culture, their leaders have to design a way to eliminate them and maintain their Monarchy perpetually, by telling lies to keep them, where it will be possible to use them to fight a fruitless JIHAD. “The war has started for this “fight” [Jihad?] they had to find another military instrument. Hence, presumably, their adoption of Boko Haram, and the subsequent enhancement of its terrorist capacity; and the reported sudden affluence of its leader who began to move about in SUVs. Was it sheer coincidence that Boko Haram became well-funded and more powerful in mid-2005, a few months after the Emir of Gwandu called for a 2 fight to end what the Caliphate perceived as its marginalization by the OBJ Government.” Events in Nigeria should not be taking lightly as this is just Jihad started with Sharia during Obasanjo regime, a conquest to occupy your territory, if you don`t resist them now at all cost. The Middle belt is undergoing this Jihad since a long time now, moving down to other areas. Most people in the Middle Belt area have fled their home and farmland. They started with grazing and killing villagers and instilling fears as well as arming themselves with AK 47, and the law have not challenged them so far. Gradually, they will penetrate and dominate wider areas, if they are not curtailed. The South Nigeria (South South, South East and South West) must as a matter of urgency begin to own ammunitions to protect themselves. In a situation like this each zone must as a matter priority form alliance with their neighbors and allies to protect themselves and call for reinforcement, in the event of attack. They should go beyond that to enter into marriage of convenience with their neighbors for the development of their zones. They should also draw a Constitution to manage their territory equitably. They must also, reach-out to share assets and make concessions for exchange of assets outside their territory, and finally, chose to name their territory either Southern Nigeria or any other suitable name, ensuring that they enhance all the initial experiences they have had in Nigeria from the Amalgamation, while leaving out Northern Nigeria. This is where the statement below becomes relevant. “The anti-Caliphate forces have also been deeply divided by their own rivalries and quarrels. But for the feud between Awo and Zik in the 1950s, the Caliphate would not have inherited power from the British. Sir James Robertson would have found it impossible to install Balewa as the Prime Minister of Nigeria” “And the sad saga of Nigeria under Caliphate colonialism might have been avoided. Now that the anti-Caliphate forces have been attempting to come together to demand a Sovereign National Conference (SNC) and a truly federal constitution to replace the fraudulent 1999 constitution, they need to understand the hidden dynamics that has dominated Nigerian history since the 1950s, and then unite to get rid of it once and for all. Fighting among them will only help the Caliphate to climb back and hang onto power” This is an early warning signal and nobody should be caught napping. The rich elites must a matter urgency be ready to finance a private army repelling external aggression. ***Jude Akagbusum is a Strategy and Leadership Expert, Good Governance Advocate, a Chartered Accountant and Management Consultant.
