STRATFORDS CAFE ON KINFOLK CORNER---------Now that was the place to be seen back in the day. Waitresses announcing to Mr. Stratford, the only cook, after taking orders, when you ready? Mr. Stratford calling back after completing the order he was working on, Go ahead Ruby Ann. No computers anywhere. Good coffee in the morning with cheese and eggs., scrambled. There I learned that scrambled cheese and eggs was to be enjoyed only after a few generous shakes of Franks Original )Durkees) hot sauce. Also, they served big, fluffy, soft cathead biscuits that you could dissect, slather real Frenchs mustard on either side and insert a generous slice of streak-o-lean or white meat inside. One of my favorite stops on my way to work during college-high school years. The Country Club of Greater Phenix City did not include such on their menus. God, I wish Stratfords had franchised. For that matter wish we had a KinFolk Corner in Phenix City but we do not have enough people that want to work. Everybody on Kinfolk Corner was either going to work, coming from work, drunk or going to jail. Gosh I miss Kinfolk corner
