STREAMS of INDIAN TIMES The Streams of Times through which India has gone through tell us that the passes, both Bolan and Khyber as well as the Hindu Kush that connects them have been our demarcated boundaries. River Sindh or Indus (Attuck of the past) a formidable obstacles. The area between the Hindu Kush and River Indus provided excellent meadows, agriculture and means of subsistence. The Hindu Kush twisted and turned before joining the Himalayas. Together they became our effective guards. The Thar added to the degree of difficulty for VILLAINS before they reached Punj Nad or (PUNJAB) or even the Indo-Gagantic plains. There has never been a Single Incidence when Indian Troops had to cross these passes to acquire land. Pursuing VILLAINS was a different matter. Anything and everything was made and available India. The export-import ratio was favored the country. Remember it is the out side trader who was keen to do business not us. In his keenness he brought his goods and also carried that of ours. Security and Peace is the prime need for any Art, Architecture, or even Culture to thrive. Existence of countless structures, beautifully carved idols, cave paintings, temples and other such items are proof enough for the richness of our Heritage. They are not dead but still visible. Even the Romans or Greeks would be jealous of us. Do we even note the uniformity achieved by our ancestors. Though the style of wearing may differ but the humble sarees was a common item of dress all over India. So was the Dhoti and its accomplish the Kurta. Stye differed but wearing it as an item of dress did not. It was common every where. So was the food. Display rice, dal, vegetables or other edible items. You can see Indians thronging around it. The babble around such market may sound incoherent. Indians of all size and colour around it. The pronouncement might differ but the food was common. DO WE EVEN THINK AS TO HOW COULD OUR ANCESTORS ACHIEVE SUCH STANDARDIZATION? What do we do now? Ignore them, forget them or look the other way, just because its too painful to even think of the past. Or just because some destructive minds think so. Do we, should we or must we forget our past by looking the other way. FRIENDS, INDIANS AND COUNTRYMEN THINK.-------To be continued.
