STRENGTH FOR TODAY (THE BLESSING OF DOING THE WORD OF GOD) In the book of matt 7:24-27 the Lord was talking about bearing fruit in what we call, “the sermon on the mount.” He said, continuing His teaching, “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock and the rain descended, the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these saying of mine and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house and it fell. And great was its fall.” For us to bear fruit in life, we ought to be doers and talkers of God’s word. The man that does the word of God is the one who will see the manifestation of the word in his life. We have needs on a daily basis. There might be a need for money, a need for healing, protection, deliverance or favour amongst other things. When these needs come it is not the time to start putting the word in your heart. The time to do that is when there is no need or challenge, so that when the need presents itself all you do is to call forth what is in your heart. Out of the heart come the forces of life. The storms of life come to all of us so the storm is not the issue. The issue is what do you do in the midst of it? The person who hears and does the word will stand while the one who hears and does not do will fall flat on his face. The choice is yours. Confession: With the word of God in my heart and faith in God I have learned to war a good warfare. With the word I overcome every storm of life. The word of God that I do and act on is the seed that produces whatever the heart desires. What I desire, I act on the word and the word produces it. Scripture reading: James 1:22-25, James 2:22
