STRIKE DAY It is extremely sad that at 6pm tonight firefighters have been forced by this government to take the only possible action to attempt to protect their pensions. Not a single firefighter can be blamed for this action, nor their Union. Not a single firefighter wants to strike. The blame firmly rests with the government who lied, deceived and gave false promises over 3 years of negotiations. If there are any needless fatalities over the next four days, it will be the UK government that will have blood on their hands. If you do not understand the facts of this dispute we urge you to find out. Do not turn your back on what is happening. Be extra careful over the next four days, accidents will and do happen. Fire and rescue cover will be substantially reduced and response will be delayed. We wish all firefighters that will picket the best of luck and we hope the public support you and give you the respect the profession has earned. ffunited admins
