STRIKE THE ROOT Satan is the author of affliction. He does nothing - TopicsExpress

STRIKE THE ROOT Satan is the author of affliction. He does nothing without sin. In other words, sin is the cause of affliction. When Jesus said to the paralytic in Mark 2:5 – “Son, your sins are forgiven”, He simply chose to deal with the cause, I mean the source, the root of the affliction rather than the affliction itself. For example, when you cut the stem of a tree, you have not killed it yet but you have only given it the chance to develop other shoots – I mean, other branches. But when you deal with the roots, you have killed the tree indeed. So, it is better to deal with the cause of a problem than to try to solve it. Today, people bother about the solution of a problem rather than its cause; they bother about healing, rather than about sin, the cause of affliction, just as they bother about blessing rather than about sin the cause of poverty. When you bother about a problem while neglecting its cause, you cannot have a lasting solution and that is why the problem keeps recurring. Dealing with the problem and neglecting the cause is like merely cutting off the branches of a tree while neglecting the root. Therefore, strike the root of your problem in order to have a lasting solution in Christ Jesus.
