STRONG COLD FRONT TO APPROACH EAST COAST CHRISTMAS EVE WILL IMPACT - TopicsExpress

STRONG COLD FRONT TO APPROACH EAST COAST CHRISTMAS EVE WILL IMPACT TRAVEL ON ROADS AND IN THE AIR. RAIN AND SOME WIND..ALONG WITH CHANCE OF A T-STORM SOME SNOW AROUND THE GREAT LAKES Travel Wednesday wont be easy. Rain will be the primary problem and some of it will be heavy. Rain and thunderstorms will be a threat up and down the eastern seaboard probably from NYC on southward so if you are flying there will probably be some weather related travel delays. As far as snow goes, the lack of any real cold air limits the extent of snow on the western side of this storm. Model does show the biggest threat would be for Chicago, Milwaukee and Eastern Wisconsin. Im not exactly excited for snow amounts though Im sure someone will do okay with this. The speed of movement prevents from being any big deal as well. Notice that even when the front moves offshore early Christmas morning, the lake effect being shown does not look overly impressive either. The real cold air arrives sometime during the day Saturday with an arctic front. Models were showing a wave on this front as a possibility for the weekend. They backed away from this idea last night and today. But given the model volatility I dont want to completely discount it.
