When speaking of iconic rock stars, there is one individual who stands tall in our minds… Michael Jackson, “The King of Pop”. In 1964, at the young age of six years old, Michael was a dominant figure in popular music, debuting his incredible stage presence and vocals with his siblings, The Jackson 5. Michael began his solo career in 1971 and went on to create the most remarkable, prevalent music career known to date. Through stage and video performances, Jackson popularized several complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk, to which he gave the name. His unique sound and style has influenced numerous hip hop, post-disco, contemporary R&B, pop and rock artists throughout the world. Michael Jackson was more than a music artist; he is a legend, one that will not soon be forgotten. Each pelvic thrust, pencil turn, point of the finger, meant something… not only to him but his followers! Michael Jackson will always and forever be… the innovator of pop music and a marvel in history.
