STUBBORNNESS We all tend to be stubborn at a point in our lives, those times we feel it is all about us, our ideas, our beliefs, theories and so on and nobody should challenge us or try to change them especially when they or some are wrong. This rebelliousness and stubbornness of people is the foundation for why Christ came to die. Please note that firmness is different from stubbornness. Stubbornness is the persistence on something most times wrong and rebuke corrections while firmness means standing on something tested to be true and not ready to compromise nor despise advice or rebuke. Some people cannot stand to be corrected, why! Like we all do say, nobody is above correction, thats how to grow. Ego has so enveloped some men that they cannot swallow correction from their fiancee or spouse, such men believe what does women have to contribute, theyre just but weaker vessels. Now listen, that shes adjusted a weaker vessel does not make you a strong or stronger vessel. She is called a weaker because there is weak before weaker, which means youre the weak and she is the weaker vessel, so you need each other to be a stronger vessel! I now wonder why some women will be so stubborn and not submissive, you were taken from his rib and not his head so needless to compete with him, you have to listen to corrections, let him lead you. Remember youre not suppose to be at the back too, the bone was not from behind, you are to be beside, walk together. I believe a stubborn person is not a Christian because stubbornness is not one of the fruit of the Spirit therefore it is not a christian traits, it shouldnt be our identity! Because it brings out rebellion most times, be open to correction. Proverbs 29:1 He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.
