STUDEBAKER TRASHED: A lady just sent this note to me. She writes: The Main Gateway into the Eastside of LB is off Studebaker onto Second Street to cross PCH by In and Out. The Bixby Ranch Company has the Oil fields on the plot of land there across from the power plants. Anyway yesterday after I turned the corner onto 2nd Street up to the in and Out, I was disturbed by the huge amount of garbage along the fence on the right that has not been cleaned up in a really long time. Perhaps you could arrange for some students to clean up this area and have it patrolled on a regular basis, as it does not seem a priority for the city. It is a first impression thing and it is not a pretty impression when you see all this trash carelessly left there. Just saying that with all you do, could this gateway be spruced up a bit with help from you and your friends? Several years ago, I did organize a cleanup there. What suggestions do you have to help this area to stay clean? Ive already sent a note to the councilwoman asking for help. Is it the citys responsibility, or the Bixby Ranch Company, or other?
