STUDENTS K - COLLEGE ~ You are each amazing! You may not believe that right now or even know it but its true. There is no perfect system for school and education. The system doesnt always do things right. Dont let the system get in the way of your love of learning and discovering and developing your gifts and talents. Final exams will be here soon. Seniors are working on college applications or awaiting replies. College students are looking for internships. When you are frustrated or stressed, please talk to someone you trust! Below is a post I shared on my personal Facebook page in reference to the students message on You Tube: For your consideration. This isnt about how many AP courses is the right number. Its not about blaming one segment of society. It is about a system (work, college, high school, middle school, elementary school, community, home, individuals) that has evolved over time. A very competitive system. A system that is out of control. Many families (students and parents) find balance within this system. Others struggle to manage it. Students, please dont compare yourselves with your siblings, friends, or classmates. Each of you has special gifts and talents unique to you. Pursue and develop your talents. Parents, please dont get sucked into the comparisons with what your child does vs a friends child. Honor and support your childs individuality. Help is needed from all the elements of this system. A human life is far more important than a gpa, rank, or test score! Thank you, to everyone who help our students see their true potential and value and for guiding them through this system that is full of land mines.
