SU ( "will see the ORANGE will WAVE to the GREEN as it goes one way " vs ( "on a ") TULANE ( "highway" ) WELCOME SUBSCRIBERS: What do you get when a potato chip manufacturer merges with a canned tomato company?..............Terrell Hunt. Those of you that were in the dome on Saturday could feel the energy level go up when TH (e)”merged”out onto the field to lead his SU teammates for the first of their many scoring drives, after SU had gained a total of -1 yards with their first three Drew Allen led possessions. Although SU’s scrimmage opponent was Wagner High School, I couldn’t help feeling the excitement of seeing Terrell Hunt doing a masterful job of running the offense. SU had not scored over 50 points in one game since the 1996 season. (other than yours truly….Who would have thunk it? )…… What made it really special was the nostalgia that I felt watching a very athletic quarterback that could RUN and PASS. Not to diminish Ryan Nassib’s accomplishment(most prolific passer in SU’s history), but he lacked mobility and was never a threat to …RUN WITH THE BALL. Watching Terrell play, brought back many great memories of past quarterbacks such as Donny McPherson, Marvin Graves and Donovan McNabb. Although it is premature to compare him to such great players, knowing that he will be here two more years after this is very good news for SU football fans……Ok , let’s talk TULANE… When you think of Tulane, you can’t help but thank them for offering Roy Dan IV , their basketball head coaching job back in 1974. It opened the door for SU’s promotion of Jim Boeheim ( from ball boy to head coach). Roy Danforth was never heard from again….and as for Boeheim…as they say…..the rest is history!....Let’s just say that Tulane comes into the dome as a bad football team , representing a weak football conference(Conference USA). They do however have a quarterback with instant name recognition…….Nick MONTANA , brother of Hannah Montana a/k/a mile e sire us )….just kidding…son of JOE MONTANA. Despite his pet agree ( that’s what dogs get when they graduate from obedience school), he will be spending a lot of time on his back. Schaefer likes to blitz, and against Tulane , it will be very successful. SU WINS IN A ROUT. The only question will be … will SU again have a 47 point lead when Drew Allen comes in to relieve Terrell Hunt ?
