SUBJECT TO THE ELEMENTS — Susan checked out the bluff yesterday to see what the rains of last Thursday had done. Here are her photos, and comments: As you can see the rain damage was considerable. I noticed installation of a couple of things I had not seen before: the orange pipe, and above there are some white markers where I imagine they were trying to direct the water down the white pipe they already installed. [According to SBPF, the white pipe installed during the construction of the geotubes and for which the ConCom issued an Enforcement Order, has been capped.] There were huge gullies on the geotubes, perhaps 2 feet wide, and both ends of that little house are eroding very rapidly. Doesn’t look as though the sand bag berm [up on Baxter Road] was too effective [with the runoff]. The extra pic of the bluff closer to Hoicks Hollow at sunrise, I think is a good example of what bluffs are supposed to do.
